Bontoc, 13th Most Improved

Bontoc, Mountain Province – The Municipality of Bontoc ranked 13th place in the Nationwide MOST IMPROVED 1st – 2nd Class Municipalities for the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CCMI) 2021. 

Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to stimulate friendly competition among Local Government Units (LGUs). 

Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey and CMCI Point Person Karen Lumiwes received the Plaque of Recognition from Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) –Mountain Province Provincial Director Mabel Banggawan during the regular Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on March 14, 2022, at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol grounds. 

The Plaque of Recognition to the Bontoc LGU was conferred by the DTI and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). 

PD Banggawan explained that the ranking of the cities and municipalities are based on the sum of their score on four pillars to include Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, and Resiliency.

Mayor Odsey expressed his gratitude to the DTI and DILG for the recognition and credited the award received by the municipality to the Bontoc LGU, its partner stakeholders, and the people of Bontoc.
