Zero crime in 58 CAR Municipalities, 38 wanted arrested

The weeklong implementation of the anti-criminality strategies and law enforcement campaign of PRO Cordillera has resulted in the arrest of 38 individuals wanted by the law, while 59 municipalities in the region recorded zero crime incidents from January 7 to 13, 2024.

Based on the records from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division, the Baguio City Police Office recorded the highest number of arrests, with 16 wanted persons apprehended; followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with 12 arrests, the Ifugao PPO and Kalinga PPO with three arrests each, and the Mountain Province PPO and Abra PPO with two arrests each.

Of the arrested personalities, 12 individuals are listed as  Most Wanted Persons, 2 of whom are listed each at the Regional, Provincial, and City levels, while three are listed each at the Municipal and Station levels.

Meanwhile, as a result of the intensified police presence, 59 municipalities in the different provinces of the region and four police stations in Baguio City remain peaceful, as PRO Cordillera recorded zero crime incidents in these areas during the same week.

Zero crime incidents were recorded in 24 municipalities in Abra, 10 municipalities in Ifugao, eight municipalities in Mountain Province, seven municipalities in Benguet, and five municipalities each in Apayao and Kalinga.

Further, in Baguio City, Naguillian Road Police Station (PS) 1, Aurora Hill PS6, Kennon Road PS8, and Marcos Highway PS10 recorded zero crime incidents out of the 10 police stations in the city. (PRO CORDILLERA PIO)
