More or less 575 kilograms of shabu amounting to almost four (4) billion pesos were confiscated from a Chinese National following the implementation of a search warrant in Purok 4, Brgy. Irisan, Baguio City on March 29, 2023
According to the reports reaching the PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR. the suspect is identified as Ming Hui a.k.a. “Tan”, a 51-year-old Chinese National residing in Baguio City.
The same report disclosed that joint anti-illegal drug operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR); National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO); PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the National Bureau of Investigation have implemented a search warrant issued by Hon. Rufus Gayo Malecdan, Jr., the Executive Judge of Regional Trial Court of Baguio City dated March 28, 2023.
The suspect was arrested after operatives found and confiscated more or less 575 kgs of Shabu amounting to almost 4 billion pesos in his rented house in Brgy. Irisan, Baguio City.
Markings and Inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered were conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspect and witnessed by Punong Barangay Arthur Carlos of Irisan; Prosecutor Philip Ceasar R. Castle, DOJ Representative; and Mr. Darius Bajo of GMA7, media representative.
To personally witness the ongoing inventory of the seized pieces of evidence, the Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) together with The Deputy PNP Chief for Operations (TDCO), PMGEN JONNEL ESTOMO; Regional Director of NCRPO, PMGEN EDGAR OKUBO; Hon. Mayor Benjamin Magalong of Baguio City; PDEA Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo; The Deputy Regional Director for Operations (DRDO) of NCRPO PBGEN JACK L WANKY; District Director of Northern Police District, PBGEN PONCE ROGELIO PEÑONES, JR. ; and PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR went to the said place of incident.
The suspect is now under the custody of BCPO Irisan Police Station (PS9) for documentation while charges for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 are now being prepared against him.
