BAGUIO CITY (PIA) – – The Department of Labor and Employment invites members of the media with published news feature stories in print and social media or programs in radio or television of the agency’s high impact programs, events, and activities to join the 2021 DOLE Media Awards.
The media awards are one of the highlights of DOLE’s 88th anniversary celebration sometime between December 1-8, 2021 where winners will be recognized.
The awards shall have two categories, the news feature story of articles published in print and social media and the news feature story or program aired on TV or radio. The materials must have been published between December 2020 to October 2021.
Articles must depict high-impact programs of the agency particularly on issues related to improved working conditions, assured work-related benefits and rights, advanced opportunities for gainful, decent, safe employment, enhanced workers’ welfare, and maintained industrial peace and the like. Or it could be about any other theme anchored on the four pillars of decent work agenda namely respect for fundamental rights at work; facilitation of employment opportunities for all; social protection and social dialogue.
The deadline for submission of entries will be on or before November 5, 2021. Entries at the regional level may be submitted to the DOLE Regional Information and Communication Offices (RICO) or may be submitted online at dole_lco@yahoo.com .
Entries will be rated based on content and relevance with 30 percent, community importance – 30%; depth and breadth of reporting – 20%, and clarity, completeness, and balance- 20%.
Cash prizes and trophies are at stake for the winners of each pillar. The first prize is P30, 000.00 cash, the second prize- P20, 000.00 while the third prize – P10, 000.00.
Awardees will be notified via email. The awardees will be showcased on the DOLE official website (www.gov.dole.ph) and official Facebook account (https://ww.facebook.com/DOLEgovph).
