Baguio’s Journey as UNESCO Creative City presented in Economic Dev’t Forum

City Budget Officer Leticia Clemente essayed the city’s journey as a UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Arts in the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (LEDIP) Forum held in Iloilo City.

Clemente, who served as a resource speaker in the forum’s session on creative pathways, shared insights on the impact of cultural initiatives on the city’s economic development and community engagement.

The forum which centered on the theme, “Pathways to Local Economic Development: Creatives, Innovation, and Partnerships” aimed to explore approaches to stimulate local economic growth through creativity, innovation and partnerships.

It was held in Iloilo City which itself is a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

The forum also featured presentations from various Local and National Government Agencies, including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the Board of Investments (BOI), the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center, the City of Iloilo and the Province of Northern Samar. These discussions emphasized the importance of innovative partnerships in enhancing local economic opportunities and promoting sustainable development.

The event served as a vital platform for sharing best practices and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders committed to advancing local economic development.
