The newly improved Children’s Playground at Burnham Park will open on March 27, 10 a.m. subject to health and safety guidelines which include a limit to the number of kids allowed to enter and play at a time.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong and City Environment and Parks Management Officer Rhenan Diwas will lead the ceremonial ribbon-cutting and blessing of the play facilities at 10 am.
Entry guidelines will be announced once finalized. These will be in accordance to the health and safety protocols under the new normal.
Diwas said the newly upgraded playground features five new play facilities in addition to the old ones which have been refurbished and adjusted for aesthetic and safety purposes.
Two book reading and story-telling areas were installed as added attractions in collaboration withe Baguio City Library.
All of these facilities are suited for children ages 12 years and under and designed to encourage interaction and build camaraderie among them.
Parents will have their own seating areas strategically placed to allow them to relax while overseeing their kids.
The park also offers improved landscape and greenery and sand landing areas for the kids’ safety.
