While conducting Counter Insurgency Operation (CIO), government security forces discovered an arms cache containing several war materials of a suspected Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Brgy. Mabaca, Balbalan, Kalinga on December 9, 2022.
Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the joint operatives of the Kalinga PPO; Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15; Philippine Army’s 50th Infantry Battalion, and PNP Special Action Force (SAF) acted on the information provided by a concerned citizen on an alleged hideout of suspected members of Komiteng Larangang Guerilla (KLG) – Baggas.
Upon arrival in the said area, the operatives discovered CTG Arms Cache containing one (1) COLT M16 A1; four (4) Magazine; two (2) Garand Rifle; five (5) Magazine Clip; twenty-seven (27) pieces of 7.62 mm live ammunition; one (1) Carbine Rifle; three (3) IEDs; two (2) M203 live ammunition; three (3) Rifle Grenade; two (2) Sticks of Ammonium Nitrate; one (1) 60mm live Ammunition; and one (1) Mortar Ammunition.
Extracted also were some subversive CTG documents; NPA flags and other personal belongings & accouterments.
Operating troops searched the adjacent areas of the encampment for the possible recovery of other explosive devices. (PROCOR-PIO)
